1. What projects are you working on right now?

Too many, homie! No lie! The ones worth mentioning right now are...

1) The Freshmakers album on some anglo, club-vibe, girl-getting, debauchery 2nd childhood tip with sparse moments of clarity starring my boy Shash’U, Mr. Goodvibes and yours truly.

2) Franglais Pure Laine with Paul Cargnello on some Blues/Punk Hop vibes. Sorta like what I did at MusiquePlus on May 2nd with Paul Cargnello & Shash.

I also got featuring's in the works with people from around the city. Watch out for my team FRESHMAKERS (Shash, Goody, Wahlee Sparks, Soké, Dirty Taz, Marco Volcy & Les Garçons) and also my peoples, Lotus, Wesli and the list goes on... I love my city and we got a WHOLE lot of flava that needs to be heard!

2. You are one of the few emcees that is equally good performing in both English and French. Do you have a preference in terms of expressing yourself?

Thx, my g! It’s nice to see that people perceive that from my music. I think it’s a good thing to be able to do both, and I will always try to show love to both scenes. I have no preferences really.

Lately I’ve been lacing the French Scene cuz I hadn’t put it to the forefront yet so it was cool to explore my capacities in that respect. I like to express different things in those respective languages cuz of the audience I’m reaching out to. In French I was much more family oriented being a francophone speaker first cuz I know they understand me better. In English, influences are more out there so I try to fuck with it much more.

In general tho I’d say I do what I wish I heard more on some : “I’m my own radio” type-ish, feel me? I also try to include some Creole in my raps being Haitian & all; and who knows maybe Spanish if I can convince my manager (from Chili) to ghostwrite sumthin for me hehe!

3. How do you think our scene can gain more exposure and popularity in the city?

I don't know and I don't think it really matters to tell you the truth. When the Habs win, everybody sports the jersey but as soon as they start losing, it feels like a ghost town.

The closest answer to that question is most definitely Bad News Brown; he embodied MTL and repped it everywhere he went. He didn't stop at just performing and making music. He involved himself in the community, reached out to up-and-coming artists, had a vision and a team behind him to push shows, mixtapes & events. That's why he'll be remembered.

In general, people remember you and are most proud of you when you're not around them and get to hear about your exploits. So no complaining, we as artists gotta grind for real! I don’t think that as a scene we do that enough. And like my man Rico Blox says, stop inviting your friend rappers to shows!!! cuz they never will be fans... It’s the music business so MIND your business if you want results!

4. When Karma goes to a club how deep does he roll?

I say it on the track DEEP (on the album DIASPORAMA) so I won’t repeat myself HA! but if you REALLY wanna know, check me out on FRESHMAKERS’ Thursdays @Jukebox bar, 3874 St-Laurent
