Leading up to the latest “West is Major” event I didn't know what to expect. The last event had some great performances and a pretty good turnout. On my way to Bourbon Street West I kept wondering if this event had reached its plateau. I mean it couldn't’t get much bigger or better, could it?
This is one of the few times that being me being wrong was actually a good thing. The acts were great, Don Smooth and MC Rain were excellent as usual and the crowd fed off the energy of some of Mtls finest Emcees.
What stood out,
David Hodges is a dope performer! His live show was great and he seems like he has all the tools to be a very successful artist.
Boy6lue has one if not the hottest videos out, (check it out here) you can never have enough emcees repping their city. It looks like it really is the Year of the Key.
Ceasrock, it almost seems too easy for this guy on stage. Great stage presence and delivery most definitely one of the better emcees in the city. I really enjoyed his performance even if it was the last show of the night.
Montreal’s first all local showcase is in full stride. If you’re not a part of the solution, you’re a part of the problem! If you can’t be at the event, help promote it, tell a friend, spread the word. Do whatever it takes to keep the movement going and don’t talk about it, be about it. Enough quotes…just support good music than happens to be local!
