Jin

One of the most popular battle rappers of out generation is a man that goes by the name of Jin. He is one of the few battle rappers to parlay his unique style into a solo career, Jin got his chance when he participated (and won) on BET’s 106 & Park Freestyle Friday’s completion.

Jin initially made waves because of his Chinese ethnicity but it was his freestyling ability (wordplay, timing, punchlines) that eventually landed him a record deal with Ruff Ryders, a New York based record label that had already signed such artists as The Lox, Eve and DMX.

His first single “Learn Chinese” might be his most popular song to date. Sadly his album had been pushed back and Ruff Ryders seemed to have his career on the back burner.

These days Jin seems to be tapping more into his Chinese roots. This re-discovering of his Asian heritage has not only helped him feel closer to his roots but it has also helped a lot of Chinese fans feel closer to him.

This has not been the only change in Jin Au-Yeung’s career. His newly found faith is shaping his songwriting and allowing his to express his love of Christ to the masses. We are eager to see what the future holds for Jin as he continues on his journey.

Check out his latest video "Shoot for the Moon"
