MaliciousQuestions and Answers with Malicious

Q. Let's just get right into it your new debut album, Music Starts With M, has done very well. How does it fell to be mentioned as one of the best MC's to ever come out of Montreal?

A .It feels great and its an honor since I grew up in the scene and had the Chance to see those who came before me R-Kade, Misery, Shades of Culture, just to name a few. The responsibility to put out great viable music that reps us lyrically as well with style is a task I take on with pride.

Q. Believe it or not, I have gotten the chance to hear Malicious early in the game...way back since Jakes days! Tell me how your life is different now since all the success?

A. It’s interesting I get the love and hate from people who don’t know me. I know my role is to bring that entertainment to the city since so many grew up watching my career grow. I've also gotten hungrier knowing where I can take my sound, which is constantly evolving.

 Q. What’s your perspective on the Hip Hop scene in Quebec and Canada?

A. It's promising as long as we stay original and dedicated. If we learn to support those who truly put in work and have what it takes to take us to the next level we'll be fine. In other words BUY MY SHIIIIIITTTTT!!! LOL

Q. With so many talented dudes coming out of Montreal it's hard to imagine why more artists aren't on our local channel Musique Plus. What is your experience with Musique Plus, have they been supporting your career?

A. I can’t front Musique plus got me into the living rooms of many (in more ways then one) lol but I think there’s more they can still offer. The problem is very few "artist" invest the time and money necessary to take this music thing from hobby to career.

Q. Can you tell me which country is your favorite country to perform in is?

A. That’s easy Canada...... wait a minute Asia was real crazy!! The Offsides show was 100$ a night out there and we had return customers.

Q. A lot has been made of the, let's say dispute with Magnum. Is the beef over between Mags and Malicious?

A. HAHAHAHAHA when you win round one is there really any need for round two?
The way I see it as long as you’re on top of your game there will always be haters and jealous cats looking to shine off your success. He got the hype he was looking for; I’m just waiting for my check in the mail. Lol!

Q. What's the hardest thing about being an MC these days?

A. Being an Emcee. These days’ people’s attention spans are so short you have
to constantly hit em up with impressive material. My track record shows just that but I don't rely on accolades. I know there’s more to give so despite the haters working hard to keep you down you have to push on.

Q. If you could compare your Musical Style to any pro athlete today, who would it be and why?

A. Tiger Woods, these other players hate to see me in the game and I always get it in.

Q. Where exactly do you see yourself at 5 years down the road?

A. Producing your favorite records.

Q. Thanks man, for taking time out of your schedule to talk with us, do you have any last words for the massive?

A. Be ON THE LOOK OUT FOR NEW VIDEOS/MIXTAPES/SINGLES/AND ALBUMS check out all the YouTube channel and MySpace sites.
