Feezy

FeezyFeezy moved to Canada at the age of 3 where he grew up in a musical environment. His older sister was in the RnB field but he prefered hip hop so he was inspired by various late 90's artists. He then decided to pursue what his father,an ex songwriter, started in his days.

He wrote many songs and performed in talent shows and musical events around the city. When he blesses the microphone, Feezy Da Main Man as he is affectionately known in Montreal, makes sure his fans are satisfied: "When I first started I was called Lil'fo, I took my first pen at a young age so it forced me to improve my lyrical abilities." explains the rapper.

Raised in Montreal, where English rap hasn't yet established its place in the music industry, this young artist persevere in putting his city on the map. Along with his talent and hard working personality, he possesses a charm like no other and captures the interest of music lovers with his sense of Montreal uniqueness mixed with his slick flows and metaphors.

Q & A with Feezy The Mainman

No stranger to the scene you've been doing your thing for a minute. How did you first get started?

Music's been around me since a young age, my father being a song writer and my sisters passion for singing. I developed music interest over time. By 14, I was participating in any music related local events of my borough. I also performed at my high school's talent shows.

When I felt ready, I recorded my first mix tape using a tape recorder, Which I still own today. I wanted to see what I sounded like on an actual record. It turned out pretty good. Good enough to motivate me to pursue my goal. With time, my passion for music grew stronger.

How do you make the jump from successful local act to being internationally known, what are the steps an artist has to take?

Personally, I believe the most important thing is the artists stage presence as it is how your audience will truly feel connected to you.
People do not only come to see somebody recite lyrics on a stage, they come to see a show and be fully entertained.

Refining and improving performance skills in a way thats targeted to specific audiences will more likely get various types of people interested in your talent. In addition, another fundamental step would be productivity. You have to be constantly productive in order to deliver fresh quality material to a worldwide audience.

What can you tell us about your latest project?

My latest projects include, "Renovation", a joint mixtape I did with SilvaBach, Another artist from OT Records. We compiled the hottest songs we recorded in the past months.
Since we had a lot of songs to choose from, it was hard to decide, but we managed to come up with dazzling results.

We always try to diversify the styles when it comes to the beats, therefore the choice of instrumentals vary.
"Renovation" is the 11th mixtape so far since 2005. Those who haven't heard the ones before should definitely visit www.FEEZYLIVE.com to hear them.

In case you are wondering "Why so many?" :I just love recording and being productive. Instead of accumulating tracks in the computer, I rather deliver them for people to enjoy. It takes hard work and true dedication to succeed, nothing is done overnight and it's really important for me to perfect my craft continuously.
